Holy Grail Products for Dry Skin

I'm no master of products or skin types, but I feel that I have finally conquered one very difficult battle that I've struggled with for YEARS. That battle was my dry skin and the war zone was my face, specifically my forehead. I have dry skin all over, but I have yet to find products like the magic potions that have been working on my face. I have done countless hours of research trying to find products that I hoped would help and never came up with anything great for me. I should say that all my life I never struggled with acne and I never wore makeup until after high school. I only had dry skin. Last year I developed breakouts/inflammation on my forehead. Right smack in the middle. I was never able to wear any liquid or powder makeup products on my forehead because they would become patchy and literally flake off throughout the day. It was so embarrassing. Luckily I didn't have to worry about it until early 2013 when my skin started getting very mad at me. It was dry, breaking out, inflamed, and sensitive. Anyone else ever have this?  Here's a look at my holy grail face products that have changed my life
Eminence Monoi Age Corrective Night Cream for Face and Neck 60ml 2oz
I started using Eminence moisturizer when my sister brought it home from the spa she works at about a year ago, but you can also find it here. It's technically a night cream so it's much thicker consistency and I think that's why it works so well for me. Thinner creams just absorb right in and my skin ends up flaking within an hour of application. So this night cream by itself has stopped the flaking, but I am still unable to apply makeup to my dry areas with just the moisturizer alone.

100% Pure Argan Oil

This is the real holy grail product, which you can find here. I apply my Josie Maran Argan Oil directly after cleansing/exfoliating and then add a small amount of night cream on top. I started using this product back in July and wrote a little haul post about it here. I bought this on a recommendation from a worker at Sephora and I couldn't be happier. I apply 4 drops to my palm and pat them onto my face. Do not rub. I repeat: do NOT rub. The oil will absorb on its own time and be much more efficient. Within a week I noticed my skin was much less inflamed and angry at me. Within 3 weeks all my breakouts were completely gone. I'm not kidding. I now can apply liquid foundation and not have any flaking at all, but more of a beautiful Dewey look. Most importantly, I can go in public with or without makeup and be completely confident that my face isn't red, zit covered, and flaking.

I hope these suggestions work for someone as well as they did for me! Thanks so much for reading :)

  1. I love the Josie Maran Argan oil! I ran out of it a while back and I need to pick up some more. I just used it on my hair, but never my face. I'll have to try that though. My skin gets so dry in the winter that it almost hurts sometimes. I've used the Kate Sommerville Exfolikate in the past and it's amazing! I want/need to pick up another one, but it's a pricey product so I'm just biding my time a little. Haha!

    1. If you have dry skin on your face I totally recommend trying the argan oil. I can't rave about it enough! I have tried something from Kate Sommerville that I received in my Ipsy glam bag, but I can't remember what it was...I'll have to look at the exfolikate. I'm always looking for new things to improve my skin on my face! Thanks for the suggestion :)
